As threatening as it looks, the approaching fire came close but did not take ROSCAR on
09/04/11,
however, it did devastate the Tahitian Village subdivision, located behind ROSCAR. |

This section of Bastrop State Park on Hwy 71 W, is located directly opposite ROSCAR. Due
to the
horrendous,
capricious
winds, the Park was hit twice. It was this second day of fires
in the Park,
in the
late
afternoon
of 9/05/2011,
when part of the
fire built itself into a
roaring monster in the
gulley above that
catapulted
directly
across
the highway,
as a
thunderous bullet train,
swallowing up all of ROSCAR - stopping
at
the
very edge of
the
property
where it
neighbors the
Tahitian Village subdivision. |

ROSCAR’s main building that houses the Tasting Room. ROSCAR’s
chocolate kitchen is the
smaller building seen in the background. |
 |
| The chocolate kitchen building looks majestically tall behind the collapsed main building. |

The fire was so hot, it was able to warp many of the steel studs. The interior, filled with steel
and
stainless
steel
equipment; tables; cabinets; metal racks; etc., was burned to a crisp. |
